A Transatlantic Career

Flynn Career Mobility I have been with PPD for more than seven years, working in the Cambridge, England, and Wilmington, North Carolina, offices. I am proud to be a part of an organization whose mission is to expedite treatment and therapies to those who need them.

When I was nine years old, I lost my sister to complications of kidney failure. She was just 18 years old and had endured years of waiting for a transplant that, ultimately, never came. Her final few months are still so vivid in my mind, like it was yesterday. I wonder, with the advances in medicine today, would things have been different?

Fast-forward nearly 25 years, and I feel privileged to work for PPD and to help make a difference.

I joined PPD in 2011 and have been inspired by the culture and team being created globally. I had a background in teaching and always felt a connection to helping people grow and develop. I started out as a recruiter and after two years expressed an interest in becoming an analyst. I was able not only to move into that function, but in 2015, I had the opportunity to move to the U.S.!

In my role as a principal talent analyst, I am reminded every day that our people are the heart and soul of our business. What impresses me most about the environment at PPD is that despite our large size, there is still the feeling of “small company” values. My colleagues, at every level, are continually approachable and happy to help. I feel proud that as a company, we attract the world’s most talented medical and scientific minds to work with us. Together, we are changing the lives of people around the world.
