Patrick (Pat) Bennett is the vice president of laboratory strategy within global product development at PPD. He is responsible for leading the strategic growth of PPD® Laboratories, with specific focus on integration across the various labs and with PPD’s clinical development teams. Pat assists the lab leadership team in creating, planning, reviewing, communicating and implementing the best practices that drive excellence in research and development and applications across PPD’s global laboratory network.
Pat joined PPD Laboratories in 2014 to start a biomarker lab and was promoted to his current role in 2017 after he led initiatives to optimize analytical operations. Most recently, he is leading the establishment of a new PPD lab headquarters in China. With more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industries, Pat has honed expertise in method development processes and innovation that has resulted in the bridging of good science, speed and customer focus. He is a recognized innovator in the CRO and bioanalytical space and is well known for pioneering high-resolution mass spectrometry for quantitative bioanalysis and qualitative characterization of biologics.
Pat holds a B.S. in toxicology, a M.S. in pharmacology from St. John’s University and an M.B.A. from Syracuse University.
