Thermo Fisher Scientific Launches PPD CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry to Advance Real-World Evidence in Nonsegmental Vitiligo

New registry will generate longitudinal real-world data to help address evidence gaps in treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.

Vitiligo Dermatology Registries

WALTHAM, Mass., July 29, 2026 – Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, today announced the launch of the PPD™ CorEvitas™ Vitiligo Registry, a prospective, observational clinical registry designed to generate longitudinal real-world evidence in adolescents and adults living with nonsegmental vitiligo (NSV).

Vitiligo is a chronic, immune-mediated skin disorder characterized by loss of melanocytes, resulting in depigmented patches of skin. While treatment options continue to expand, including topical therapies, phototherapy, systemic corticosteroids and Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, important evidence gaps remain regarding long-term effectiveness, durability of response, treatment sequencing, comorbidities and patient-focused outcomes.

The CorEvitas Vitiligo Registry is designed to address these gaps through the prospective collection of longitudinal real-world data from patients with NSV across the United States. The registry will evaluate the long-term effectiveness of approved treatments while generating insights into disease burden, natural history, treatment utilization, patient outcomes and unmet needs.

“By capturing both clinician-reported and patient-reported outcomes over time, the registry will help advance understanding of nonsegmental vitiligo in routine clinical practice and support evidence generation for patients, providers, researchers and industry stakeholders,” said Dr. Peter Wahl, vice president and global head of scientific affairs for CorEvitas Clinical Registries. “This registry will also enable the patient voice to be captured to better understand how NSV and newly approved therapies impact day-to-day life, including physical well-being and social aspects of the disease.”

The registry enrolls adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older with dermatologist-confirmed NSV. Participants are followed longitudinally to evaluate disease progression, treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in routine care settings.

The registry, an important addition to the CorEvitas Clinical Registries’ comprehensive autoimmune and dermatology portfolio, is intended to provide a robust platform for understanding how therapies perform in routine clinical practice and to support ongoing research and clinical decision-making, with the ultimate goal of improving patient experience and quality of life for those living with NSV.

Frequently asked questions

A prospective observational registry designed to generate longitudinal real-world evidence on treatment effectiveness, disease burden, comorbidities and patient outcomes in NSV.

The registry enrolls adolescents aged 12 and over and adults with dermatologist-confirmed NSV and support evidence generation for healthcare providers, researchers, regulators and life sciences organizations.

Despite advances in available therapies, important evidence gaps remain regarding long-term treatment effectiveness, durability of response, treatment sequencing and patient-focused outcomes.

The registry will provide high-quality real-world data to advance understanding of disease burden, treatment patterns and patient experiences while supporting future research and clinical decision-making.
