Randy Marchbanks, Pharm.D.

Senior Vice President, Operations Strategy

Randy Marchbanks, Pharm.D., serves as senior vice president of the operations strategy unit within PPD’s global clinical development team. In this role, he is responsible for developing the company’s operational delivery strategies from the proposal stage through study or program activation across biopharma and biotech clients. The operations strategy unit is composed of the strategic feasibility team, the operational strategy lead team and the patient solutions and recruitment team.  

Since joining PPD in 1993, Dr. Marchbanks has held several management positions with the company’s clinical operations and commercial teams, most recently serving as senior vice president of development operations.

Dr. Marchbanks has extensive laboratory and clinical research experience in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to PPD, he was director of clinical and scientific publications for Symedco. He also was an assistant clinical professor of pharmacology at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and Roger Williams Medical Center.

Dr. Marchbanks earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of South Carolina and a doctorate in pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a fellowship in infectious disease pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy.
